Terms of Service

1. What LegitPhone does
LegitPhone looks up a phone's IMEI in third-party databases and shows you a plain-English report. Depending on the phone, the report covers blacklist status, Apple Find My/iCloud lock, carrier lock, Samsung Knox Guard, and model and warranty details. You can enter the IMEI yourself, or send the seller a link so they can enter it.
2. Checks only
LegitPhone only checks phones. We do not unlock phones, remove or bypass iCloud, Find My, Google (FRP), Knox, MDM or carrier locks, change IMEIs, or clear blacklist entries, and we won't help anyone do so.
3. Acceptable use
Use LegitPhone to make an informed decision about buying or selling a phone you are entitled to deal in. You may not use it to help sell, move or hide lost or stolen devices, to check phones in bulk for resale of the data, or to scrape or overload the service. We may refuse or cancel checks that look like misuse.
4. Price and payment
A full check costs $1.99 (USD) per phone. It is charged once, through Stripe, when you start a check or create a seller link. We never see or store your card number. Refunds are covered in our Refund Policy.
5. Accuracy and limits
Results come from third-party databases (including our IMEI data provider and the industry blacklist sources it uses) and reflect what those databases said at the time of the check. Those databases can be incomplete, delayed or wrong, and a phone's status can change later, for example if it is reported lost or stolen after your check. In particular:
- We cannot confirm whether a phone is paid off (financed or on an installment plan). An unpaid phone may be blacklisted by its carrier later.
- We cannot check Google account lock (FRP) from an IMEI.
- Company management (MDM) is not checked yet.
- We can't judge physical condition, repairs or replaced parts.
A report is information to help you decide, not a guarantee. Always do the in-person checks listed on the report before you pay a seller.
6. Seller links
When you send a seller link, the seller is only asked to enter the phone's IMEI. We don't show the seller your name, number or email. If the seller doesn't enter the IMEI within 7 days, the link closes and you are refunded.
7. Report links
Each report has a long, random link that can't be guessed, but anyone you share it with can view it. Reports are deleted after 90 days.
7a. Seller-provided reports
Sellers can check their own phone and share the report in a listing. These reports are labeled "Seller-provided check", show the check date, and show only the last 4 digits of the IMEI. A seller-provided report only reflects the databases on its check date. Buyers should match the IMEI in person and can run a fresh check. Sellers may not alter reports or present a report for a different phone.
8. No warranty; limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties and are not liable for losses from buying or selling a device, including relying on a report. In any case, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the check in question.
9. Not affiliated
LegitPhone is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple, Samsung, Google, GSMA or any carrier. Product names are trademarks of their owners.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. Changes apply to checks started after they are posted. Questions: 3443 Enterprises LLC (d/b/a LegitPhone) · support@legitphone.com. Governing law: the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, USA.
